Dumbing down the populace is going to have many unintended consequences. It’s up to us to save our country. Too much is at stake to shrug it off.

How well I remember. Sundays at our house were filled with newspapers, and everyone read and commented. I remember those four photos and the tragic events they portrayed. The decline of newspapers and photojournalism is a major loss for all of us. Marc, great essay.
